Central Heating Repairs in Braunton

Braunton is the closest of my regular call-out areas — five to twenty minutes depending on where you are in the village. It also has a specific set of heating challenges that are worth understanding if you own property here.

The coastal position matters. Salt-laden air accelerates corrosion on external heating components — flue terminals, aluminium condensate pipe, any exposed pipework runs. Internal components aren't immune either: the damp coastal climate means anything that's starting to fail tends to fail faster than the same component would inland. External parts on a Braunton installation should be inspected more carefully during a service than you'd expect to need on a system in, say, Tiverton.

The housing mix runs from older village centre properties — some with open-vented systems and conventional boilers — to the modern estates at Wrafton and Velator with sealed pressurised systems. There's also a significant holiday cottage and holiday let presence, particularly in properties with access to Saunton Sands. These get heavy seasonal use and then sit empty, which creates a similar pattern to what I see in Ilfracombe: seasonal system failures when heating is switched back on after a period of inactivity.
