How I work through a heating fault
Start at the boiler
I check the boiler is firing and sending heat out, and what the pressure gauge says. That tells me whether the fault is in the boiler or in the system.
Follow the heat
I check the pump is circulating, the zone valves are opening, and which radiators get warm and in what order.
Find the cause, not the symptom
A radiator cold at the bottom has sludge in it, but the sludge came from somewhere. I look at the system water and tell you what's behind it.
Fixed price, then the fix
If it needs a part, you get a fixed price for it before anything's fitted, and the labour stays at £220.
How booking works
You book
Book online and your time is confirmed straight away. I work Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, and I'm not an emergency service. If it isn't a job for me, I'll say so and point you to someone who can help, rather than going quiet on you.
You'll know when I'm coming
You choose a start time when you book, not a morning or an afternoon. It is an estimate, because the job before yours can finish early or run on. When I set off to you, you get a text with a link that shows where I am, so you can see when I'll be at the door.

Older cottages in the village often have open-vented systems with a feed tank in the loft and a hot water cylinder, sometimes with radiators added in extensions over the years. Newer houses round the edges of the village are more often sealed systems with a combi.
Open-vented systems tend to pull in air and grow sludge. Sealed systems are more prone to pressure loss. The fault list is different, and so is the fix.
Old and awkward is normal work here, not a reason to be turned away. Back boilers, open-vented systems, system and regular boilers, microbore pipework, boilers sited where somebody put them forty years ago and nobody has fancied since. The one honest catch is parts: if a component isn't made any more, I'll tell you that before you spend anything.
