George Lane, Gas Safe No. 515374. Fully insured, 25+ years on boilers. I do every job myself, from the first visit to the finished work.
If you smell gas, leave the property and call the National Gas Emergency number, 0800 111 999, before anything else. Once the supply has been made safe, I can come and deal with the appliance.

How booking works
You book
Book online and your time is confirmed straight away. I work Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, and I'm not an emergency service. If it isn't a job for me, I'll say so and point you to someone who can help, rather than going quiet on you.
You'll know when I'm coming
You choose a start time when you book, not a morning or an afternoon. It is an estimate, because the job before yours can finish early or run on. When I set off to you, you get a text with a link that shows where I am, so you can see when I'll be at the door.
Fremington properties that have an unvented cylinder
If your house has a hot water cylinder and no tank in the loft, it may be unvented, and it needs its own yearly service. A standard gas boiler service and unvented cylinder service on the same visit is £157, instead of £210 booked separately. With the full gas boiler service it is £237, instead of £290. Both prices include VAT. It costs less because it's one visit instead of two, and it can't be combined with any other reduction.
What a service in Fremington involves
1. Combustion and safety
I analyse the flue gases with the boiler running, check the gas pressure and test the safety devices.
2. Flue and ventilation
I check the flue is sound and sealed, and the terminal is clear, inside and out where I can reach.
3. Cleaning
On a standard service I clean the condensate trap and the magnetic filter. Other parts I can reach are inspected, and if something needs cleaning or replacing, I explain why and give you a price before doing it.
4. The system water
A water quality check is part of the service: the inhibitor level, the pH and any signs of corrosion in the system water. Topping up or replacing the inhibitor isn't included, so if the system needs it, I show you what I found and give you a price before doing anything.
5. What I found
You get a written record. If anything needs attention, I explain it and price it before any work.
Combis on the estates and why they still need a yearly service
A combi on a newer estate can run for years without complaint, which is why services get skipped. The trouble is that the things a service catches, like a condensate trap filling with debris or a filter full of magnetite, don't show until the boiler stops. Most manufacturers also make a yearly service a condition of their warranty.
When the full service is due
A Full gas boiler service is £185 including VAT. It adds a new burner gasket, a full clean of the heat exchanger and burner, and inspection and cleaning of the ignition electrodes and the flame sensor. Most boilers need the full service every three to five years, depending on how hard they work. Viessmann boilers need it every year, because of how the burner and heat exchanger are built.
